"Oslo, where the water is clean enough to kayak through the city centre, and where the fjord has been handed back to its residents."

Ah, to have a government where this is valued.

"The cutest video of today: a lost baby lamb is reunited with its mother 🥹"

My heart. How sweet 🤍

"Have you seen the beautiful sight of rose petals falling from the Pantheon’s oculus on Pentecost Sunday? Here you see the backstage masterminds, the Rome firefighters. Would you dare to do this?"

Sure, I would do this. Nothing is as dangerous as living in a country where your government sees you as a liability ⚘

Good Morning Compass 🧭 Careful dear Luna

Chicago cleaned up its river and Lake Michigan is pristine. Some places in the US value their water! NYC has the Million Oyster Project, where shellfish now filter the rivers and bay around the city. We’ve managed to do this locally in the US.

The Iran debacle demonstrates in no uncertain terms a failure of leadership and underscores the incompetence of the current commander in chief. It also makes it 100% clear that bombing Iran was always about creating yet another distraction from the Epstein atrocities and the grifting taking place at a massive scale within the president’s family and the Republican Party leadership.

The 7-day war, wasn’t it supposed to be? Or some such timeframe. Dump didn’t learn from ”Putain” and his “quick” war with Ukraine.

Thanks, as always! These words in particular stand out to me: "Iran's foreign ministry spokesman marked the moment...a Roman emperor bowing to an ancient Persian King... not being subtle."

The report about more venomous snakes 🐍 due to climate change is more scary to me than flinging rose petals down a large opening! The videos in today’s 🧭 are wonderful, especially the baby lamb running towards its mama💚

Oh to have a government that cares about clean water.I’m so jealous of Oslo’s new canal over a polluting roadway!Yes, today is Memorial Day, but that means nothing to 47 who never donned a military uniform because of “bone spurs”.Luna looks as if she might not want to get any closer to snakes.I don’t blame her…

This Iran "deal" is like dry burnt toast, with only a mocking tease of anything to make it less unpalatable. Jam yesterday, and jam tomorrow, but never jam today. Curiouser and curiouser.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see EXACTLY what DJT is doing. As he flounders, he is under the illusion that he can put out a vague announcement on social media and manipulate both the public and the price of oil.

An astute and unflinching analysis of the deeply troubling news that begins the week. As vacillating statements issue from Washington, the pattern continues predictably. The reporting in this article upstages BBC and The Guardian and these facts remain unchanged: “The point being avoided in most coverage is this: the Strait of Hormuz was open before the US and Israel attacked Iran in late February. The Strait’s closure is a direct consequence of that war. A deal that reopens it does not represent a victory. It represents a return to roughly the situation that existed before the conflict began.”

All this stems from a deeply impaired and incompetent president who is in far above his head with no safeguards to rein him in. To reference what Trump once told President Zelenskyy, Trump has ‘no cards’. The cards are held by Iran and America and the world pay for his follies.

The Ebola crisis is another devastation that’s at least in part attributable to Trump.

If only America had the wisdom and leadership of Pope Leo and the intelligence of a president whose foresight put a man on the moon.

Let us honor those brave souls who sacrificed their lives in service to a country that is no longer the same as the one they fought for.

Another amazing and BEAUTIFUL video to watch before I get going with my day!!!! ( The little baby lamb running to his Mama!💗 The rose petals thrown down from the Oculus(?) in Rome?? Must have felt beautiful if you were standing below. ( In a way I hate to think of ALL the beautiful Roses that were picked for this moment on Pentecost.)

The Strait?????? !!!! More and mire “take backs “ from Trump’s mouth!!! He only wants to “ think and say” the word “Victory!!” Again, does he think that people who hear his words are so dumb and/ or do not remember what he has said? His lack of control has made this situation worse than before his loose cannon words and actions! Yes, ships were operating just fine through the strait previously. Now, there might be an extra tax ???

Sadly, for the World, not just the U.S., Trump’s delusional desire to “ rule the world” has eroded SO much in our world balance and hopes to work together as humankind .

Trump and the many people who are around him, feeding his diet of “Yes, Sir, you are saving the world!” I am not a swearing person, however, there is a part of me that wants to be less delicate and end this note with 1 word!! I will refrain. 😑

Incredible videos today! Speechless! Thank you for the uplift after the drudge of what in the world is happening elsewhere. Bless you for the happy!

In 1981, I was driving on I-10 from Tucson to Bisbee when the news came on the Iranian Hostages had been released. I wasn't too heavy into politics but I knew Iran had waited until Reagan was inaugurated. Timing is everything. Iran plays to November; Trump plays to the stock market

But action speaks louder than words. Americans can do something. When I face my fears head on and take action, I feel better. Yes, we are struggling; yes, we are weary, but I see wisdom & knowledge coming at us in real time. Right here. Mobilize. Use it. America's time is now.

I believe you and others give us the benefit of lessons in history to use as action verbs, not just to read, because you genuinely care about America and the planet. It shows.

Memorial Day is so much bigger than a President. We owe it to our fallen service members to keep living, keep mobilizing and keep fighting for our Democracy. Many thanks, Alex.
